Kokusai Pulp & Paper has made a fresh start as a core operating company in Northeast Asia in the KPP Group through the company split accompanying the transition to a holding company. We took this opportunity to establish a new management philosophy for the entire Group. We will develop all our business activities based on our raison d'etre of contributing to the achievement of a recycling-oriented society through paper innovation.

Although we have achieved growth based on sales of paper and paperboard and other related businesses for many years, the domestic paper market has been shrinking due to the impact of depopulation and digitalization. To achieve sustainable growth even under these difficult situations, we are pursuing various initiatives based on the belief that our most important issues are to adopt a sales method utilizing digital marketing, to increase our portfolio in areas other than paper business, and to create and expand new businesses. One example is digital marketing using the solution proposal website “SHIFT ON” launched in March 2022. In terms of online sales, we will build and develop a sales system that utilizes e-commerce in Japan, drawing on the expertise and precedents of overseas Group companies.

In addition, the global demand for products that reduce environmental impact is increasing, and the market for such products is expanding. We will firmly grasp this trend and further evolve our totally recycling-oriented business model. As for environment-related products, we will also consider expanding our business into downstream fields with the aim of increasing sales. We will cooperate with group companies to develop these environment-related businesses into the core of our business and to reform our business portfolio.

As the leading pulp and paper distributor in Japan, we will continue to develop our business activities with consideration for the global environment and fulfill our mission to achieve a recycling-oriented society. We look forward to your continued support and encouragement.
