President & Executive Officer

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support.

My name is Hideomi Komai, President and Executive Officer.

Since our founding, we have been committed to contributing to the development of society through the distribution of paper and paperboard—materials that support daily life, culture, and industry. As society evolves with changes such as demographic shifts and the advancement of digitalization, the roles of paper and paperboard have diversified, and the paper and pulp industry is now facing a major turning point. As a specialized trading company in paper and pulp, we consider it our mission to leverage the trust and achievements we have built over years, along with our expertise and network, to fulfill our corporate message: “Paper Innovation for a Connected Future.” We aim to serve as a vital link in the supply chain while consistently providing optimal products and solutions to our customers.

In recent years, global efforts toward realizing a sustainable society have accelerated. Reducing environmental impact and making effective use of resources are both a mission and a responsibility for the paper and pulp industry. In Japan, our core business is the distribution of base stock for paper and paperboard, and we play a key role in resource circulation by collecting approximately 70% of that volume as recovered paper and selling it to paper manufacturers as raw material. We are also promoting closed-loop recycling schemes and working to enhance the value of paper and paperboard as renewable resources. Furthermore, in response to growing demand for plastic reduction and elimination, we are actively engaged in the development and distribution of environmentally responsible paper products.

Starting in fiscal year 2025, we have launched our Fourth Medium-Term Management Plan. As the regional headquarters for Northeast Asia, we will implement this plan under the KPP Group’s management philosophy of “Contributing to the realization of a recycling-oriented society.” By combining our global network with local responsiveness, we aim to foster an environment where each employee can unleash their creativity, even amid changing market conditions. We will pursue the potential of paper and deliver new value through “pioneering the future with Paper Innovation,” an “open-minded organization,” and the “cultivate accountable people.” In addition, we will promote DX initiatives that focus both on defense (productivity improvement) and offense (value creation), while strengthening our response to social issues such as logistics challenges and global warming.

We will continue to take on challenges sincerely and boldly to meet the expectations of our stakeholders. We kindly ask for your continued support.
